the heel, it's flapping

I posted the last picture with no words, because really, words were unnecessary, don't you think? And, I was just posting the picture for Cami who was chomping at the bit to see how this lovely yarn was going to knit up.
This is Lorna's Laces in the Tuscany colorway. I love the stripey-ness of the leg but I'm not keen on the way the heel is pooling. It looks totally different from the leg of the sock and that's bugging me a bit. But, I'll leave it to knit up and see how the finished project looks. If I don't like it, I can always wear this sock with my lone Tofutsies sock.

Very pretty! Personally I'm intrigued by how heels look. I always worry about the top of the foot pattern after re-joining the heel to the instep. Although we can't really judge yours since you didn't give us a picture of the heel *tease*.

I think it will be a lovely sock and they are very pretty colors.

Hi Melly! I came by via Cami - don't know what took me so long -- what a fun blog you have! I love lornas laces, but I've sworn them off. Why oh why do they have to have such pretty colors? Mine always pool though (twice now) -- just the opposite of yours -- the heel is the only normal, pretty part. The rest of the socks pool (with a pattern just like your heel) and it looks like I'm wearing a damn candy cane. If you and Cami could discover the secret, I'd be much obliged! ;-)

Knitting socks amazes me...and scares the hell outta me... one day I will sit down with some of the pretty sock yarn I have... and push through my first pair. My 'excuse' for now is my double pointed needles somehow vanished in the move. Weird how stuff like that happens, stored with all my other knitting stuff and both sets...gone. Perhaps it's the universe's way of sparing me pain? -grins- Yours look fantastic, despite pooling colors.

Okay, now is a good time to update your blog posting, crafty chica. I know you have way more sock by now. Chop-chop... love you! Cami
