housing chickens

ken figures these "free chickens" have cost us about $500. so at two eggs per hen per day, if they started laying tomorrow, it would take until new years for any sort of ROI (return on investment). my numbers geek husband. i don't care about any of that. i look out my window and this view makes me smile. that's what matters.

WOW! You'll be farmers before you know it. Wait. Sounds like you already are. The chickens look great and that house is amazing. Did you want to move in yourself???

Wow I love the cool digs for the chickens - just what you need, more to care for. (kidding) Will they be ok out there in the winter - you will have to have some heat, right? I love the names, chickakan...a chic that rocks. Hope Seattle was good relief for you - we leave Weds and have so much to do before then. But we just sprang Mike out of the hospital Sun afternoon and he's a little nauseaous this morning after trying to do too much, so looks like I get to do it all. I feel like I could lay down and sleep for weeks.
Do you put your bib overalls on to go out and talk with the chicks? I need to find you a straw hat sistah...love ya, Rob

Loved having chickens... but with hunting dogs (by heritage only), they just aren't an option.

That yellow coop would delight me to no end. Enjoy!!!

Your coop is very cute. I'm on the lookout to find a replacement for my Chicken-N-Hutch. I love having chickens.
